A week of special programmes celebrating British Science Week 2019!

Make British Science Week go off with a BIG BANG by bringing your class to Eureka!

  • The Energy Show – KS1 and KS2 (must be booked)
    Book an exciting 45 minute interactive science show all about energy. Explore what energy is, the different types of energy and how energy can change from one type to another. Available as KS1 and KS2 options.This show brings to life just how amazing energy is. Through explosive experiments and hands-on science demos your pupils will learn that energy is everywhere and can never be created or destroyed only changed. Pupils will find out how energy moves through their bodies to complete an electrical circuit and see a chemical reaction explode on their hand! We’ll also introduce friction as a form of energy loss, complete with a giant friction tug of war.

  • STEM activities in the galleries (drop-in)

1. Find out more about how DNA and Genomics are changing the world of medicine in our All About Me gallery

2. Meet our Explorer in the Living and Working Together gallery who has a variety of artefacts from the natural world both past and present, for you to touch, hold and learn about.

  • Meet the Experts
    Meet and talk with a range of STEM professionals, in the museum throughout the week, talking about what they do and providing activities for your pupils to try.
  • Under 5s
    Children aged 5 and under can visit the Creativity Space for hands-on science investigations and exploratory play suitable for their age group.
