Fiona currently works for the Centre for Sustainable & Resilient Communities at the University of Huddersfield where she is undertaking a PhD. Prior to this, Fiona worked for over 20 years in not-for-profit sector for a number of national and international charities in senior fundraising and communications roles. A member of the Institute of Fundraising, Fiona has worked for NSPCC, Shelter, UNICEF UK and MAG (Mines Advisory Group) as well as operating for three years as an independent consultant working for UNHCR and WSPA, amongst others. As Deputy Executive Director of UNICEF UK, where she worked for fifteen years, Fiona was responsible for all voluntary income generation from individuals, companies, foundations and trading activities. During her time there she had responsibility for the generation of over £250million funding. Fiona was also a member of the UNICEF’s global strategic planning team for private sector income. Fiona has been a regular speaker at IoF and International Resource Alliance conventions.

A graduate of St Andrews University, Fiona has a Masters from the University of Huddersfield University Business School and is a qualified day skipper.
