After graduating in Chemistry from Sheffield University in 1978, Alison joined the Sheffield office of KPMG and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1981. After a period working as finance director for a plastics distribution business in Sheffield, Alison moved to Leeds in 1990 to re-join KPMG as a member of a newly formed corporate finance team. From then until her retirement from KPMG at the end of 2008, Alison worked solely on corporate transactions – acquisitions, business disposals, management buy-outs, company flotation’s etc. and advised on a number of the high profile deals in the Yorkshire region in recent years.
Alison joined the Board of Trustees in June 2009 and chairs the Finance & General Purposes Sub-Committee. Her other interests include the Arts, in particular the theatre, and she is an active member of a local amateur dramatic society. She also enjoys running and mountain walking.
