Visitors to Eureka! will celebrate the museum’s 18th birthday with a new style admission ticket offering unlimited family fun for 12 whole months. The introduction of the ticket on Monday 1 February 2010 is the first of many celebrations taking place this year to mark the museum’s coming of age and 18th birthday.
The Annual Pass is now the standard admission ticket. Prices are £8.95 for adults and children aged 3 and £2.95 for children age 1-2. Babies age 0-11 months continue to be free of charge. A saver ticket for five people is £38.50. Day Tickets cost the same but are only valid for the initial visit.
Everything you need to know about the introduction of our new Annual Pass.
What is the Annual Pass?
The Annual Pass entitles all of the party you have paid for today to come back to Eureka! free of charge and for as many times as you like over the next 12 months. A named adult who has signed the pass must always be present for subsequent visits.
Who does the pass cover?
The pass covers everyone who has visited with you today as long as they are with a person who has signed the card. If there is someone who will visit with you regularly we recommend that you pay for them today, so you can all be on the same pass.
There are people I would normally visit with who are not here today. What do I do?
Just buy the appropriate ticket including them and add their names to the annual pass card.
Who should sign?
If you have been kind enough to give Gift Aid the ‘Gift Aider’ must be one signatory. We recommend that you make the other signatory be the person who is the most likely to bring the children.
Why do you need my signature?
The signatures help us reduce fraudulent use of the card. We will perform spot checks to see that the person visiting is the person who signed.
Can I give my Annual Pass to family and friends to use?
No, unfortunately the Annual Pass can only be used by the named pass holder and the people who are with you today and who are listed on the pass.
Can I bring additional children?
Yes, you will need to buy an additional ticket for them on the day. You can add them to your annual pass but their pass will expire on the earlier date of your pass.
If one of my children isn’t visiting on that day can I bring another child instead?
No, unfortunately the Annual Pass can only be used by the named children.
Will I have to pay extra for special events?
Yes, you will have to pay extra charges for special events where applicable. The pass only applies when standard admission charges would apply (£8.95, £2.95, £38.50). This means you will also have to pay for school trips, birthday parties and group visits.
Can I use Tesco Vouchers or any other vouchers to buy an Annual Pass?
No, Annual Passes are not available to purchase using Tesco Vouchers, Yorkshire Pass holders, free child vouchers or any other discounts, unless clearly stated otherwise. You can use these against a Day Ticket which are valid for the initial visit only.
What do I do if I lose my Annual Pass?
New passes will not be issued if you lose your pass so please keep it safe. If you can’t find your pass or forget it on a visit you will need to buy a new ticket.
Can my child/children use the pass on school or group trips to Eureka!?
No, unfortunately not.
Can I still sign up for Eureka! Membership?
No, the new annual pass system replaces the Eureka! Membership scheme.
How is the annual pass different to Eureka! Membership?
The annual pass is different to our previous membership scheme because it does not give you free car parking, discounts in the shop and café or discounts on birthday parties.
