Preventing Swine Flu

As part of our management of the Swine Flu pandemic Eureka! has taken the following steps to reduce the opportunity for infection during your visit:

  • Providing small hand sanitisers for staff working around tills and the information desk so they can regularly clean their hands whilst they are in close contact with the general public
  • Providing sanitisers for all staff to sanitise hands before going into the exhibitions
  • Removing activities that involve prolonged close contact from museum's events programme
  • Vigorously cleaning areas where there is more contact with hands e.g. banisters, door handles and cleaning these areas throughout the day with disinfectant spray
  • Displaying posters in the toilets to remind everyone of the importance of effective hand washing

To help your children understand how to minimise the risks visit the Department of Health website to find out how 'Dirty Bertie' learnt to keep his germs to himself.
