Gift Aid

Gift Aid is one of the simplest and most effective ways of giving to charity. Using Gift Aid means that as a taxpayer for every pound you give to a charity they will receive an extra 25p from H.M Revenue and Customs at no extra cost to you. Whenever you give a donation to charity, you can use Gift Aid to help your money go further.

Gift Aid helps support Eureka!Gift Aid is now available to charitable attractions that accept donations from visitors who are UK tax payers. Eligible organisations that are participating in the Gift Aid scheme will display the Gift Aid logo.

You must pay/have paid an amount of income tax and/or capital gains tax equal to the tax we reclaim on your donation from H.M. Revenue and Customs. So to be a Gift Aid Visitor for every person you pay £9.95 for admission to Eureka!, you must already be paying £2.49 in Income/Capital Gains Tax in a year.

The Gift Aid Scheme will then allow us to claim 25p in every pound directly from H.M. Revenue and Customs related to your visit.

Most people do pay enough Income Tax to claim Gift Aid on a visit to Eureka! as it is usually paid on your salary, pension or credit interest on your bank account. We do not see your earnings at any point, we just need your confirmation when you visit us

Gift Aid – How does it work?

Gift Aid applies to charitable donations of any amount.
If you pay enough UK tax, all you have to do is give the charity a simple Gift Aid declaration. This might involve completing a short form or just providing some basic details (Gift Aid declarations must include the donor’s full name, address and postcode). Eureka! will then ask H.M. Revenue and Customs for the Gift Aid and we shouldn’t need to contact you again.

If you are not resident in the UK for tax purposes you are not eligible for Gift Aid.

Higher rate taxpayers can also reclaim tax from any charitable donations made by including details on their tax form.
