Gift Aid – How does it work?

Gift Aid applies to charitable donations of any amount.

If you are a UK taxpayer, all you have to do is give the charity a simple Gift Aid declaration. This might involve completing a short form or just providing some basic details (Gift Aid declarations must include the donor’s full name, address and postcode).

If you are not resident in the UK for tax purposes you are not eligible for Gift Aid.

Higher rate taxpayers can also reclaim tax from any charitable donations made by including details on their tax form.
