1
Enjoying messy play
Jelly Play
Prepare some jelly together the night before – you could add some fruit pieces or jelly sweets. The next day, explore your jelly to dig out the tasty treats.
2
Play when doing chores
Shooting baskets
When tidying the bedroom, place out 3 or 4 baskets or boxes – one for clothes, one for rubbish, one for toys. Take the object that belongs to the basket and throw it inside. If it goes in score 5 points, if it doesn’t lose 5 points. See who can get the best score.
3
Play when getting ready for bed
Bedtime hop scotch
Lay their bedtime clothes and favourite bedtime book and toy out on the floor from their bedroom to another room and they have to land on or near the item before they can pick it up and put it on. If there’s more than 1 child it could be made into a race.
4
Play on a rainy day
Digital Rain
Using an umbrella for protection, use a camera to capture the magic of the rain, including water droplets, cloud shapes and colours, reflections in puddles and rainbows. Make a rainy day photo album.
5
Play on a journey
Tin Foil Art
Take along a box of tin foil and see what foil sculptures you can make, let your imaginations run wild! It’s great for animals, people, spaceships and more.
