Roald Dahl Weekend
Enter the world of snozzcumbers and whizzpoppers at Eureka! this September to celebrate the life and works of much-loved children’s author, Roald Dahl. The Museum for Children in Halifax, West Yorkshire is celebrating Roald Dahl’s birthday on Saturday 13 September with a whole weekend of activities, including a chance to make your own revolting recipes and marvellous medicines.
Join exotic animal handlers ZooLab in live handling sessions where you’ll meet some of the very same minibeasts that James encounters in Roald Dahl’s James and the Giant Peach; design some scrumdidilyumptious sweets for Willy Wonka in arts and crafts sessions where you can make your own sweets from paper and card; sample some truly revolting recipes in the Eureka! Kitchen; or look out for demonstrations of magic tricks using potions made from everyday kitchen ingredients and inspired by the concoctions of George’s Marvellous Medicine. Roald Dahl was born on 13 September 1916 in Wales to parents of Norwegian descent. His books for children and adults are popular the world over and many have been made into films. His most well-known children’s stories include Charlie & the Chocolate Factory and Matilda. To find out more about Roald Dahl Weekend at Eureka! visit call +44 (0)1422 330069.
