Nursery Class of 2008

Last week 15 pre-school children from the Eureka! Nursery donned caps and gowns to receive their certificates at a ‘graduation ceremony’ to mark the end of their time at the nursery.

The graduation ceremony was organised by the nursery with the help of Leeds Metropolitan University for the three and four year old children who are finishing nursery this summer to go on to primary school in September.

All children wore a specially made cap and gown just like grown up graduates and were presented with a certificate in front of their proud parents and carers during the ceremony.

The ceremony ended with a performance by the children of songs about their time together at the nursery which they have helped to write.

Nursery Manager Sandra Thompson commented: “We are very proud of the 15 children that graduate from Eureka! Nursery this year. They have been a joy to care for and will be much missed. We wish them a happy start at primary school and look forward to seeing them return to the Eureka! Museum in groups with their new schools.”
