Wonder Walk
Awaken your senses on the Wonder Walk sensory trail, outside in the Eureka! Park.
The Wonder Walk is Eureka!'s newest outdoor exhibition, a trail to delight your senses and give you the chance to get close to the natural world.
Explore your environment
- Find the giant totem pole that oversees the Wonder Walk and see the story of Eureka! in its pictures.
- Play, hide or create your own world in willow huts.
- Climb over logs and stones as you travel around the Wonder Walk.
- Explore an inflatable greenhouse.
Get close to nature
- Experience squishy, splashy and scratchy sensations on your bare hands or feet as you wade through trays of mud, sand and water embedded in the path.
Use your senses
- Hear the tinkling of wind chimes and follow the noises to find where they are hanging.
- Smell sweet or aromatic herbs and flowers planted all around the Walk.
- See the bright colours of flowers and pinwheels.
- Touch everything!
The Wonder Walk is designed to be suitable for all ages and abilities, and includes a wheelchair accessible trail. Plants and decorations have been planted at a child's eye level to encourage children's interactions with the trail. The Wonder Walk is open rain or shine to visitors during museum opening hours.
The Wonder Walk would not be possible without donations of time, funds and gifts that helped to ceate the exhibit. Eureka! would like to thank the following supporters for their help in the development and creation of the Wonder Walk:
